Tomlin Perkins Coggeshall & Christopher Rice Present Who Was The Woman Behind The New Deal

The Westport Library Association in recognition of
Women’s History is honored to host for the month of
March, a six-panel educational exhibit on the life and
legacy of Frances Perkins. EXHIBIT OPENING
RECEPTION will follow one hour Documentary/Q&A
presentation, Sunday, March 5.

documentary includes narration with
dignitaries, historians, and journalists
who knew Frances Perkins or knew of
her, including: Speaker of the House
Nancy Pelosi, Journalist David Brooks,
Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC, Senator
George Mitchell of Maine.
CONTEXTUAL PRESENTATION / Q&A
Tomlin Perkins Coggeshall and
Christopher Rice, Westport residents, will
present a brief introduction to the film
with historical information about the life
of the first woman appointed to a
presidential cabinet including her
relevance to New York and personal
recollections of a grandmother.We encourage everyone
to visit and learn more about the New Deal and this
remarkable woman whose important legacy of social
justice and economic security continues to benefit us
today.
